A new Beginning; Event Horizon
Ok, Here is the deal. Where do you think Bliz is headed with WOW.
I have a few iders;
Starts with both factions uniting to defeat a super boss/dungeon. Something crazy like 100-200 man raid.
Once he is actually defeated, than that server gets a reset to lvl one with the new content.
New content =
Realignment of classes making new factions.
Factions consisting of class types.
Faction1; Warrior; Priest; Hunter
Faction2; Druid, mage, deathknight.
Faction3. Palidan, Shawman, Lock
Something to that extent.
Now, there are 3 starting areas in the new worlds that can be used for starting points.
Classes use same talent trees.
IDK U Guys think this is an awsome idea?

Re: A new Beginning; Event Horizon
This is the dumbest idea, ever.
Only scrubs with shitty gear and no skills to get into a decent guild think that starting all over is any kind of ideal scenario.

you tried to order a margarita mcflurry and when they said they didn't have that you tried to dial 911

Lolz,
OK Mr. pimpstar. What do you think should happen?
I am not just talking about using the old content. They use the same maps, but bring in better graphics, and rework the Dungones. TWink Fin MC And Shit,
Anyone have any Ideas?

Re: A new Beginning; Event Horizon
A class that is allied to both factions (Alliance & Horde) would be interesting. I was somewhat expecting that DeathKnights were going in that direction, but they turned out to be another Druid class (limited interaction with players from the opposite faction, mostly in the form of using the same class trainers and sharing a neutral ground: Ebon Hold).
Maybe in the near future Horde and Alliance players can cooperate (share buffs, heal each other, communicate) to overcome a greater threat.

Re: A new Beginning; Event Horizon
It'd be cool if you had say one giant fucking instance with 10 raid dungeons in it, with each one being instanced off from the other one, but to complete the instance and get phat lewts you and the other 9 raids would have to complete the wings in harmony and each raid group would need to accomplish a certain task, with one group fucking up meaning gg no lewt.

Did you say that would be cool?
My idea of cool is having fun for an hour or two, not coordinating the full scale re-enactment of the Invasion of Normandy.

Um, I should log on tonight, and do some Ulduar, maybe down a new boss?
IDK I don't really get idea-happy when there's shit to do that I haven't done already.

Re: A new Beginning; Event Horizon
I would like to see them take the content somewhere in that direction. IE a server wide event where pvp is disabled somewhere (think Cenarion whereeverthefuckdruidsgo) where players have to work together to fulfill a goal and where (think how awesome this would be) cross faction chat is enabled and works. (I mean it's common what the fuck why wouldn't it work)
But I don't think a 200 man raid event would be plausible think of the massive lag, better to spread the people out amongst 5 zones or so with quests and dungeons all working towards a set goal.
Now the main disadvantage and something that would need to be worked out would be cross faction trading if that was allowed. And would you be able to do cross faction instances. But I guess we'd have to wait and see how they would code that.
Some sort of "only allowed in with the gear on your back" scenario would work or only making gear/items from that zone tradeable IN that zone might work as well.
I wonder if some sort of EOTS type island would work for that, smallish area where you can change the rules and essentially make the entire area zone-able so that you can program what happens simply in that zone.
Take It Easy Blizzforums, I will probably be back at some point but for now farewell. Special nods to Bred, Ace, Smooth, Mike, Pizza, GA, Ben for being some of the best posters on this site. Less special nods to B2H and Meteora for sucking at GOW2. Peace!

Re: A new Beginning; Event Horizon
imo i'd rather have more battlegrounds
as for cross faction assistance, this is something that needs to happen in icecrown during the final confrontation between Arthas and everyone else. though let's be honest, Suarfang could just cleave him in two np.

Re: A new Beginning; Event Horizon
IDK Mr. MetalMouth or whatever that Orc's name was, tried to get hard with Arthas at Fordring's Hold and we all saw how that played out. Might as well start calling Arthas "Ashton" because he punk'd the shit out of that clown. At least Fordring didn't get his fucking soul eaten.

Re: A new Beginning; Event Horizon
to be fair, that was Saurfang's son, not Saurfang himself. though I heard they nerfed his cleave and stuff with a chance a few patches back, heh. ah well.

Re: A new Beginning; Event Horizon
Apart from everything else that has been said, your factions make absolutely no sense. Paladins and Warlocks, Druids and Death Knights together?

Re: A new Beginning; Event Horizon
Ok, I can't really agree with your idea, but I give you props for trying to reimagine things. Most of the stuff I come up with generally ends up being failed War3 tales of alternate/other stories (such as Satyrs getting phat powerz and attacking Night Elves, then after that defeat eventually finding themselves in Stranglethorn and in the service of Hakkar, or my storyline involving a forgotten band of Old Horde on the Eastern side of the Wetlands mountains, and their dealings with a group of exiled humans who allied with the Horde).
Yes Friends. Act now. Destroy Unicron!
Kill The Grand Rhubarb!
Eliminate Even The Toughest Stains!
-Utterred by Wreck-Gar, the Junkion leader, upon departing for the final battle with Unicron at Cybertron.

Re: A new Beginning; Event Horizon
Is "reimagining" like when you steal someone else's intellectually copyrighted material and use them as fodder for your own poorly thought out writing? If you want to imagine, then imagine...come up with something fresh. Don't start "imagining" by ripping off someone else's idea.
