Default Top 10 cities to work and live.

According to Business Week survey conducted http://images.businessweek.com/ss/08...ties/index.htm
Do you live in any of these cities? If not would you like to? I live outside of Phoenix, I would like to live in San Diego or Miami but Miami was on the top 10 worst list. There are of course many different studies and surveys on this subject so this is just one of the many. What would your top 10 choices be?

1. New York City

2. San Diego

3. San Francisco

4. Las Vegas

5. Los Angeles

6. Seattle

7. Denver

8. Phoenix

9. Chicago

10. Boston

Las Vegas is most definitely DO NOT WANT.

It can be a nice place to tour for a few days, but I'd never want to live there.

I've been to Vegas 3 times and for just a couple days at a time and that was enough for me. I grew up by the beach so I'd like to be by the beach again. Phoenix gets too hott in the Summer! Though AZ is pretty conservative and a nice place to raise a family it's just damn boring!

That's what suburbs are for.

Only problem is urban sprawl eventually brings to outlying suburbs into the metropolitan area. People who wanted to work in Vegas but not live there used to buy houses in Henderson, Blue Diamond, or Boulder City, but now the difference between all of those is about the same as between Dallas, Arlington, and Ft. Worth: Complete clusterfuck.

Pahrump is where it's at nowadays. Nice quiet community, not too big or too small, an hour's drive away but totally worth it cause the brothels aren't legal in Clark county.

yeah, fuck that. I don't know how there isn't an endless stream of drivers looking for their homes because they all look the goddamned same (the houses, not the drivers. Though maybe the drivers are clones? idk)

That's quite true one doesn't actually have to live inside the city itself, I live outside Phoenix in a quiet, safe and fairly conservative town. I still feel that it is quite too boring for me. Lol and yes all the houses look like cookie cutter homes which I dislike very much.

List is sketchy.

Some on the "best cities to work and live in" list are also on the exact same page's "worst cities to work and live in".

The article states how the survey was conducted. It was based on opinions of about 2500 hundred employees and entrepreneurs across the country so I'm sure the opinions varied making it possible for some of the cities to make it on both lists. My top ten choices would be almost entirely different.

Anybody that says Las Vegas is a "great place to work and live" is off their rocker.

I live in Boston.

Which is why East Coast suburban living will always be better than suburban living anywhere else in the country, short of the heavily-planned stuff in Oregon and Washington.

Houston's weather is similiar to Phoenix, hott! I like warm weather not 100 degree plus weather. I've traveled a lot but never been to Boston hope to go someday. I agree that East Coast Suburban living is great I spent about 5 years of my childhood in a beachtown in Western NY, it was great! I wouldn't go back to live just too damn cold.
