Where/How Can I watch?
This competition will be casted live. High-def streams will be available and costs $10 for the entire weekend. This pass also includes Halo 3, Tekken 6, and World of Warcraft (competitive raiding?). Of course, there will be a free, lower quality stream at no cost.

Who's droning voice will I have to suffer through with commentary?
Sean “Day9” Plott is an 11-year veteran player and StarCraft commentator, known to the majority of the StarCraft 2 community for his “Day9 Daily” internet live stream shows. His expertise at the game and exciting personality make Day9 a community favorite.

JP McDaniel has made a name for himself in the ever-growing StarCraft 2 community with his commentary on the MLG KOTBH SC2 beta Showmatch series, as well as with his community outreach efforts and extensive PR experience in StarCraft and World of Warcraft.

Alex “HDStarCraft” Do and Mike “Husky” Lamond hardly need any introduction. Boasting the #3 and #4 rated channels on YouTube, with replays reaching beyond 150,000 views each, this dynamic duo’s high-definition StarCraft 2 replay commentaries have taken the gaming community and the public by storm. Their energetic play-by-play and “everyman” analysis gives their broadcasts the perfect blend of game knowledge and layman’s commentary.

StarCraft 2 is Live!

More than a decade after the release of the most popular RTS game in history, StarCraft 2 hits shelves (physical and digital alike) today. Be sure to head over to the boards to let us know how things are going.

Don't have it yet, and the store was sold out? Head over to the official site and buy the digital version: www.starcraft2.com

New Battle.net Site
Jul 15, 2010 - 3:02 PM

New Battle.net Site

Battle.net Beta

Blizzard released a new battle.net site earlier: http://beta-us.battle.net/en/

It looks like you'll be able to manage all your games, just like you can with the current Battle.net site. However there seems to be an emphasis placed on Starcraft II, World of Warcraft, and Diablo III. Logging in is quick and easy, and even supports an Authenticator (if you happen to have one). There's even an option to "remember me" available at login, which is a welcome addition for those of us who don't share a computer.

Alongside this preview of the new Battle.net site includes a "Digital Purchase" page for Starcraft II that allows you to download the Starcraft II client now and "activate" it on 7/27/10 -- "If you intend to buy a DIGITAL copy of StarCraft II, you can download the full game client ahead of time. Get into the game faster!" -- Note: This version seems to be aimed at those people who intend to buy the digital copy of SC2, as opposed to heading out and picking up a retail box (or collector's edition).

So, what do you think of Battle.net's new facade? Love it, hate it? I for one will miss the blue from the current version.
